A fan blog dedicated to the wicked awesome band, Týr.
Our song The Lay Of Our Love is the Hit Pick of the week at ChartBase.dk. It is also one of five testers on the CB Next Up 20.
You can vote, but you must vote realistically. That means if you only vote 3 stars for us your vote will not be counted. So see if there’s anything else you like, and give it a star or two as well.
If we get to this list we’ll get to the big 100 list next week, and we’ll ask you to vote again in that case.
Thanks in advance for all votes
Týr - Faroese anthems
If you have missed our meeting with them in issue №32, now you have the opportunity to meet with the soldiers from the Faroe islands- Tyr. The new album “Land” has already sailed with viking ships for fans’ prey. Northern myths and legends again are main accents, but the main thing in the new album is the land- the one, for which humans have fought, have died and have dedicated the most beautiful, endured and true songs.
Hello, Heri. Once again you have made an excellent album. Why did you name it “Land”?
Because ‘land’ is a tiny word, but mutual for all languages. It’s pronounced the same way in all Scandinavian languages, as well as in English and German and it always means the same.
On what legends and myths have you stopped this time?
Traditionally, it comes to myths about the pagan gods Odin and Loki. Most of the songs are about the viking invasions in the middle VII century. One of the songs – Sinklars Vísa refers to a later period- to the fight between Scotland and Norway in the XIV century.
Don’t you think that if you sang only in English, there would have been more fans to listen to your music?
Just as I was about to make a funnypicture of Petri and me, he woke up, staring at me like a shark! :-D
I SWEAR THIS MAN IS TRYING TO KILL ME
This one is back again!
I transcribed this interview because everyone in it is kind of mumbling and speaking very fast. I hope people find this helpful!
